This is a quick landscape painting I did last weekend while visiting Memorial Park in Santa Monica, California. The sky was all mixed-up with clouds, but it still felt warm and humid. It took me about an hour or so to paint en plein air on 11×14″ canvas board with

The bones of this painting I did en plein air at Lake Balboa in Encino, California. I painted with a new plein air group and we had some ‘incidents’ from the pigeons in the trees. I always carry heavy duty towels and pink brush cleaner for times like those. I
