Plein Air Using More Expressive Brushstrokes

I painted these at the park, using a high saturation base and black outlines. I was short on time and needed to to lay in the complementary top layer of color. They say that necessity is the mother of invention. The top layers were added in with expressive and quick brushstrokes. Along with the color contrast, I believe this gives the paintings a lot of motion and visual interest. I am going to explore this technique further when I paint.
