Yesterday, July 16, 2022, was a scorching hot day inland so I decided to do a plein air painting by the ocean. Burton Chace Park in Marina Del Rey offers many views of boats and people at the marina. I like painting seaside scenes because even if I do a quick impressionistic painting I can see it and remember the fog, the sea spray, and the cool temperatures. Many people who live on boats and were visiting the park came by to check out the painting and had many kind words for it. After painting for a few hours, though, and returning home I realized the infrared rays had given me a sunburn through the fog. Note to self: always wear wide-brimmed hat and light long sleeves by the sea.
Because there was some interest in the painting while I was completing it, I am making it available through my website for a limited time here. Purchase this painting.
