I painted Olive Park in Burbank, California many times before. The fields, trees, and baseball diamonds are well documented in my portfolio. So while I was at the park, I decided to make a quick painting based on a previous photo. Above is a picture of my usual setup. I looked through my phone and found a picture I took of irises at Descanso Gardens. The position and layout of iris in the center is based closely on the photo and the rest was improvised. I think it turned out good. Most of the colors have blue except for the light orange background as contrast.
