The Montrose Car Show today happened to be on the hottest day this month so far (100°F) so I was lucky to find a somewhat shady spot by the road to paint. I used my spray bottle often to keep the acrylic paint from drying. Two hours and the result is impressionistic and loose.

  1. Always great to get outside painting with good light – though personally I prefer less crowds and more quiet.

I often paint in the bustling cities. It’s kind of exciting, like being a street performer, in a way. It does take a swift brush, focus, and a calm mind when people or large trucks block the subject.
