In the middle of a busy summer, I participated in two art events around the San Fernando Valley in California. The first even in June 2024 was the Canoga Pop Art Walk in Canoga Park. Over one hundred local artisans are invited to set up their booths along the wide sidewalks of Sherman Way. They do not close the road, so the vendors have to be careful not to block the sidewalk. There is a lot of foot traffic as people go to the shops on Sherman Way and the atmosphere is lively. I had a lot of fun, and sold a painting on top of it!
The next event was the Burbank Fall Festival at Johnny Carson Park in August 2024. It was the last day of the blisteringly hot heat wave we had this year, so I took plenty of water. Talking with the other vendors was fun – even the California Creative Arts was there! There was a movie on a big inflatable screen, bands playing, and a raffle. Even though I did not sell anything, it was still an entertaining way to spend the day outside in a nice park!
